Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Biller to join a busy healthcare practice in Oceanside, CA. This role is critical in ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submissions, and optimal revenue cycle management. Key Responsibilities:

+ Process and submit accurate claims to insurance companies, ensuring appropriate coding for medical procedures and diagnoses.

+ Resolve claim denials and follow up on rejected or unpaid claims to ensure reimbursement.

+ Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts while maintaining accurate records.

+ Verify patient insurance coverage prior to treatment, ensuring eligibility and coverage details are accurate.

+ Respond to patient and insurance inquiries regarding billing, offering clear and prompt resolution.

+ Maintain compliance with HIPAA standards and ensure confidentiality of patient records.

+ Assist in monthly reporting and analysis of billing performance.

Requirements

+ 2+ years of experience in medical billing and coding in a healthcare or clinical setting.

+ Certification in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred.

+ Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.

+ Strong understanding of insurance policies, including Medicare and Medi-Cal.

+ Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
