    Opening for an Accounting Assistant

     

    Schedule: Mon -Fri; 8-5

     

    Salary: $52,000 ideal (stretch up to $55,000)

     

    Benefits: Medical % paid for employee; Vacation, Holidays and 401k

     

    Reputable company within Freight and Logistics industry for 20 years; very stable with long term employees; offer a great team environment and benefits. Open to training entry-level professionals with some work experience in Accounts Receivable and Payables that are pursuing a Degree.

    Keys to this role:

    + Experience with A/R and A/P ; posting

    + Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets is needed.

    + Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is a plus but not required

    + Will train on software; any knowledge of Logistics industry is a plus

     

    Job Overview: The Accounting Assistant reports to the Finance and Dept. Manager; Performs input of both Account Payables and Account Receivables for some Caribbean Island locations; Processes and posts customer deposits and payments; Reviews and reconciles Customer statements and updates reports with any discrepancies or outstanding aging due for Manager. Communicates with customers as needed.

    Requirements

    • Some work experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and any ERP

    • Familiarity with logistics or freight forwarding is advantageous but not required.

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.

    • High level of integrity and dedication to maintaining accurate financial records.
