Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for our client in Kenner, Louisiana. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your expertise in accounting and bookkeeping to a dynamic environment. The Bookkeeper position is offered as a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an organized system for tracking financial transactions, including creating a chart of accounts and establishing bookkeeping policies.

• Verify, allocate, and post financial transactions to maintain accurate account records.

• Reconcile entries to ensure balanced accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial information.

• Preserve high-quality historical financial records by properly filing and organizing documents.

• Compile and analyze account information to prepare comprehensive financial reports.

• Generate Accounts Receivable invoices, review incoming payments, and record deposits accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related role, demonstrating attention to detail.

• Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with the ability to adapt to new systems.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with managing Accounts Receivable and conducting month-end close processes.

• Excellent data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications.

• Experience with payroll processes is a plus.
