    Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for multi-state populations. You will help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for employees, including salaried, hourly, and bonus payments.

    + Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies related to payroll, tax reporting, garnishments, and benefit deductions.

    + Partner with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.

    + Prepare and review payroll reports, including 941s, W-2s, and audit documentation.

    + Assist in payroll system upgrades, testing, and implementation of process improvements.

    + Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

    + 3+ years of experience in payroll processing in a mid-to-large company; Fortune 500 experience is a plus.

    + Knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Oracle, SAP, or UKG.

    + Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    + Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a strong plus.

    + Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
