Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in all financial tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close procedures, including the preparation of complex journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Compile and analyze monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting purposes.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the creation of financial close workbooks.

• Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger, ensuring accurate depreciation calculations and reconciliations.

• Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations during month-end processes.

• Ensure compliance with critical deadlines and deliverables in financial operations.

• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and processes.

• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with accounts payable (AP) tasks to ensure timely processing and reporting. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and processes, including general ledger management.

• Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software.

• Exceptional analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to meet critical business deadlines and manage time-sensitive tasks.

• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and journal entry preparation.

• Knowledge of accounts payable (AP), bank reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
