Description
Robert Half is recruiting for a dynamic company located in Wilmington, NC. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee and manage our clients' financial operations.
Position Overview:
The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our client by managing the General Ledger, payroll, financial reconciliations, contracts, and other key operational responsibilities. This position will also provide financial reports, support audits, and oversee accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
+ Maintain the General Ledger and all associated modules.
+ Process monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations.
+ Perform general ledger account reconciliations and manage fixed assets.
+ Oversee budget management and provide financial support and reporting for events and other departments.
+ Reconcile school credit cards.
Payroll Management:
+ Maintain payroll records and leave reports.
+ Prepare necessary payroll-related reports.
Audit Assistance:
+ Support the annual audit, including preparation of reconciliations and required reports.
Document Management:
+ Manage financial and operational records.
Team Supervision:
+ Oversee Accounts Receivable Accounting Specialist, Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist, and Payroll Administrator.
Survey/Data Reporting:
+ Prepare and input survey reporting data to external agencies.
Committee Support:
+ Take minutes at finance, insurance, facilities, and investment committee meetings.
Other Responsibilities:
+ Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
+ CPA, CMA, or advanced degree preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, with previous controller experience strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of accounting software and strong proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel).
+ Excellent organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
+ Proven ability to lead and supervise accounting staff effectively.
