    Job Description:

    The Transportation Planning Analyst is a pivotal role within the Department of Transportation, responsible for providing comprehensive research, evaluation, and planning services related to Maine's towns, cities, and counties. The position will also oversee and help to manage key state programs, including the Local Road Assistance Program (LRAP), the LTAP Center, highway classifications, road inventories, urban boundaries, and grant programs. The incumbent will work independently to perform complex planning and analysis tasks, and collaborating closely with all levels of municipal officials in rural and urban areas of Maine's towns, cities, and counties. This role requires building and nurturing relationships, establishing credibility, and managing critical state programs that provide essential resources to local governments.

    To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

    A six (6) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in planning and program development with specific background in specialized field as necessary (i.e. transportation planning, environmental planning, economic planning).
