Description

Fernandina based client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join their full-service public accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions for a diverse client base, including small to mid-sized businesses across various industries. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with accounting software, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities Include:

+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients.

+ Record and reconcile daily financial transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank/credit card transactions, journal entries).

+ Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.

+ Prepare financial statements and customized client reports under supervision.

+ Process payroll and related filings (where applicable).

+ Assist with the preparation of sales tax returns, 1099s, and other compliance filings.

+ Collaborate with staff accountants and CPAs on tax and audit engagements.

+ Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and resolve discrepancies.

+ Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

+ 2+ years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience (public accounting firm experience preferred).

+ Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop), Microsoft Excel, and general ledger software.

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus).

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
