Description
Nick Corieri from Syracuse's Robert Half office has a Staff Accountant opening with a growing company located in the heart of downtown Syracuse. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with billing standards. Responsibilities:
• Review and ensure accurate posting of expenses and revenue entries in the General Ledger, making adjustments as necessary.
• Monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue accounts and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare monthly accounting entries for prepayments, depreciation, amortization, and interest expenses.
• Reconcile bank accounts, including handling transfers, electronic payments, bank fees, and debt payments.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reconciling month-end AR and AP details to the General Ledger.
• Manage large client accounting files and records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with billing standards.
• Research and resolve invoicing discrepancies, preparing credits and billings in a timely and accurate manner.
• File payment remittance documents, correspondence, and invoices while assisting with mailing monthly statements.
• Enter employee credit card expenses into the accounting software and support monthly account reconciliations.
• Generate database queries and reports to support the accounting department and management team.

Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Job costing experience is a preferred
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong skills in bank reconciliations and General Ledger management.
• Experience with preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
