Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for our organization. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll systems, manual payroll environments, and a keen eye for detail when managing complex payroll tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, verify, and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with applicable regulations.

• Input and upload payroll data into systems with precision to maintain accuracy and consistency.

• Process and review fringe benefits, deductions, and other payroll components to ensure accurate pay stub generation.

• Reconcile pay stubs by identifying, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies.

• Utilize Excel for payroll analysis, employing functions such as formulas to streamline reporting.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet payroll deadlines and obligations, including insurance billing for fringe benefits.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of payroll systems and compliance requirements to ensure smooth operations.

• Support manual payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll or accounting operations, with a solid understanding of payroll systems and processes.

• Proficiency in Excel, including basic formulas, for payroll reporting and reconciliation tasks.

• Strong knowledge of payroll operations, including fringe benefits and deduction processing.

• Ability to review, interpret, and verify pay stub accuracy and compliance.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate results.

• Experience in a manual payroll environment is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with prevailing wage concepts or similar systems is an advantage.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and external partners.
