The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Surgical Technologist (ST) delivers care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the ASC/AST and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Surgical Technologist assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of owning an individual level of knowledge and experience and assuming responsibility for one's own professional advancement.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ Completion of an accredited ARC/ASTA Surgical Technology program including appropriate documented clinical hours

+ Minimum 1 year of work experience

+ Flexible and willing to learn new specialties and function well in a team setting

Preferred:

+ Experience with the following specialties: Orthopedics, Podiatry, General Surgery including robot & laparoscopy, Urology and Vascular

Certifications and Licenses Required:

+ National Certification in Surgical Technology

+ BLS through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

+ Shift working, 7-5:30pm 4 days a week

+ Willing to take on call emergencies weekdays and weekends

+ FT

Essential Functions:

+ Scrub independently on surgical cases

+ Understands and demonstrates knowledge of sterile techniques

+ Understands the role of patient advocate in the surgical setting

+ Will speak up for safety

+ Other essential duties as required
