    Survey Crew Chief - Indianapolis, INJob Description

     

    Join a dynamic construction team as a Survey Crew Chief, where you will be integral in conducting construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys. After the initial nine-month contract period, you will also perform ALTA surveys. You will collaborate with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew, with occasional solo assignments, utilizing state-of-the-art Trimble equipment for precision and accuracy.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys.

    + Conduct ALTA surveys upon becoming a permanent employee.

    + Work collaboratively with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew and independently in a one-person crew.

    + Utilize Trimble equipment including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software.

    + Engage in projects primarily involving commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, and institutional sectors.

    + Conduct post-design and pre-design survey work for large clients and various Civil/Architectural firms.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Survey Crew Chief.

    + Proficiency in performing field portions for construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys.

    + Ability to pass a Drug Test, Pre-employment Check, and MVR check.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with civil survey, topography, total station, GPS, land survey, and boundary survey software.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working outdoors in the field on survey projects, offering significant autonomy as you travel directly from home to job sites. Minimal overnight travel is required, ensuring you return home each night. The position offers flexible hours, with typical start times around 7:30 AM, and the opportunity for overtime.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
