    Job Description

    • Will be responsible for transferring drawings from PDF files, hand drawings, and other CAD platforms to complete the 3d modeling of components, sub assemblies and assemblies

    • Perform (and/or provide direction for) the following during product development projects/programs:

    • Work with engineers and marketing staff in dynamic conceptual stages of projects. Generate multiple models for concept and prototype evaluation.

    • Generate component files for various prototyping techniques, procure prototype parts and evaluate components and design for meeting requirements.

    • Capable of generating specific models and conducting CAD based FEA analysis on components and moderately complex systems in conjunction with engineers.

    • Utilize knowledge of equipment capabilities, application techniques and design limitations during the design process with minimal input.

    • Take responsibility for finalizing design CAD models in a manner (accuracy, completeness, and timeliness) that supports the project timeline.

    • Utilizing CAD design techniques, skills, design rules and specifications, prepare design concepts, assemblies, and detail drawings, perform mathematical calculations, research material options and manufacturing techniques, and prepare completed models in support of product design.

    • Maintain and develop a high level of knowledge of CAD tools, CAD techniques, and prototype methods; provide direction and training as appropriate.

    • Ensure that all product development processes and activities conform to Invacare’s quality system.

     

    Must Have

     

    - 3d modeling experience with Solidworks

     

    - 2+ years of mechanical design experience

     

    - Component and assembly design experience

     

    - Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes

    Nice to Have

    • Two (2) years of college or an Associate’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or Engineering Technologies preferred.

    • Must have demonstrated ability to work from concept to production.

    • Detailed knowledge of various prototype and production manufacturing techniques for metal and plastic components. Experience utilizing various manufacturing techniques to design for assembly.

    • Experience working with an ECR/ECN process and manufacturing BOM systems.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
