The Retail Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring all patient orders processed daily are accurately filled. This position involves pulling orders, labeling, packaging, shipping, verifying receipt, and assisting the Pharmacy Operations Manager with inventory management.
Responsibilities
+ Communicate with pharmacists, patients, providers, billers, and vendors regarding medications, products, supplies, and other aspects related to patient orders.
+ Determine drug, product, or supply shortages based on received information and relay any discrepancies in usage to appropriate staff.
+ Fulfill prescription orders by matching labels and delivery tickets with patients’ prescriptions and supplies under the supervision of a pharmacist.
+ Pull prescription items, label them, record quantities dispensed, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
+ Maintain stock levels and order supplies under the supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
+ Pick and pack orders based on delivery requests, ensuring accuracy by checking contents of orders packed for delivery.
+ Coordinate deliveries with patients.
+ Assist Pharmacy Operations Manager with routine paperwork and special projects.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned by professional staff.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in pharmacy, retail pharmacy, and patient order fulfillment.
+ Good communication skills, integrity, initiative, and a positive attitude.
+ Customer service oriented approach.
+ Ability to refill prescriptions under supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school graduate.
+ Prefer two years of college in the medical field.
+ Prefer one year of job experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or other medical setting.
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in an indoor, retail pharmacy location. Candidates should be comfortable working through a reorganization period, which may result in a slightly messy environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
