Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will diagnose, service, and repair various systems found on heavy equipment, including mechanical and computer electronic controls, transmissions, computer-controlled automatic transmissions, and pneumatic systems. You will troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and repair them, ensuring the machinery operates efficiently.

Responsibilities

+ Diagnose and repair heavy equipment systems such as mechanical and electronic controls, transmissions, and pneumatic systems.

+ Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.

+ Repair and service track drive sprockets, rails, idler wheels, hand bars, track adjusters, hydraulic reversers, final drives, brake bands, steering clutches, and hydrostatic transmissions.

+ Service, diagnose, repair, and maintain speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift, hydrostatic driven, heavy-duty multi-axle suspensions.

+ Tune diesel engines, service valves, fuel filters, turbo chargers, and conduct pressure checks on fuel filters.

+ Adjust injector heights, fuel racks, governors, and other engine components.

+ Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble units in cooling, drive, brake, electrical, steering, heating, air conditioning, hydraulic, and air systems.

+ Overhaul engines, replace engines, and rebuild components.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

+ Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques.

+ Perform related work as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Proven mechanic experience on heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, paving machines, backhoes, bulldozers, dump trucks, trenchers, compactors, graders, telehandlers, backhoe loaders, tower cranes, feller bunchers, dragline excavators, wheel tractor scrapers, pile driving machines, and concrete pumps.

+ Mechanical, diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience is required.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience as a shop mechanic or mobile mechanic.

+ Knowledge of hydraulic systems and construction equipment.

+ Skilled in working with heavy equipment such as backhoes and excavators.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a non-temperature controlled environment. Initially, there may be training in the shop before transitioning to field work. You will be expected to troubleshoot and repair machinery independently, ensuring high-quality service delivery to customers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Pflugerville, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.
