    Job Title: Engineering Technician (oil&gas)

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting project objectives by executing chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments. The role involves the setup of test equipment, compiling and reporting test data, and working with engineers to generate mass balances and data compilations. This position is integral to maintaining equipment and aiding in plant operations, with training provided by chemists or lead engineers.

    Responsibilities

    + Execute chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments and support project objectives.

    + Set up and maintain test equipment, and compile and report test data.

    + Work with engineers to generate mass balances and data compilations.

    + Perform sample collection and equipment maintenance/troubleshooting.

    + Take apart and rebuild equipment as changes are made to the pilot plant.

    + Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings.

    + Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical equipment.

    + Assist in the safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment.

    + Visually inspect and listen to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.

    + Monitor plant air and water emissions from outside the control room.

    + Help with operations of the plant using SCADA software. ( training provided)

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanical aptitude is essential.

    + Ability to read and interpret schematics.

    + Experience in sample collecting and equipment troubleshooting.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, particularly Excel.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma required.

    + Knowledge of tubing and pipe-fittings.

    + Understanding of basic fluid flow, gas flow, and pressure.

    + Experience in engineering, mechanical, pressure, chemical, and petroleum industries.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes both inside and outside settings in a research and development context focused on innovative process development. Candidates must be willing to work overtime and shift work as required. Training will be provided for SCADA software operations and mass balance generation. The role involves hands-on work with mechanical and electrical equipment in an engaging and collaborative atmosphere.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
