Measurement Cubing Specialist | Chattanooga, TN
Job Description
Assemble test parts onto a nominal made aluminum car body (cubing) while following the Product Description Manual (PDM). Evaluate with product auditor and investigate root cause in non-conforming components and assemblies. Set meetings with internal customers to define countermeasures and long-term actions for the defined issues; protocol meeting minutes and action plans; create topic sheets for presentation.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze parts and systems to determine root cause.
+ Assemble, set up, and measure parts on the Meisterbock and Cubing jigs.
+ Review Meisterbock and Cubing assembly results with product auditor.
+ Set meetings with internal customers to define countermeasures and long-term actions for the defined issues.
+ Protocol meeting minutes and action plans.
+ Establish presentations and reports for analysis and review of measurements.
+ Prepare CAD files for offline programming and product analysis.
+ Measure parts in free state and on fixture using Faro arm, Zeiss CMM.
+ Cross-check measurement results for plausibility.
+ Support customers with evaluating the measurement results.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of measuring technology experience, automotive background preferred.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent experience.
+ Experience with 3D measurement equipment such as Faro and Gom.
+ Experience with evaluating sheet metal, plastic parts quality, and vehicle manufacturing process quality.
+ Understanding of Statistical Tolerance Analysis and Process Capability Studies.
+ Understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and functional dimensions.
+ Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, presentation, and written.
+ Excellent problem-solving and implementation of corrective actions.
+ Analytical, innovative and conceptual thinking.
+ Social and cultural skills – team player.
+ Flexibility with travel and shift times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with measurement software (e.g., Metrology, Catia V5).
+ Understanding of coordinate systems and alignments.
+ Experience with optical scanners (GOM preferably).
+ GD&T and measurement experience, quality engineering.
Work Environment
Temperature-controlled measurement laboratory in a state-of-the-art facility. Long-term contract opportunity with a possibility of permanent hire. Offers premium pay, PTO, and holiday billable.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00/hr.
