    Job Title: FPGA EngineerJob Description

     

    As an FPGA/Firmware Design Engineer, you will design, implement, and test firmware solutions targeting unique high-speed FPGAs and their supporting circuitry. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team, including electrical engineers, systems engineers, and scientists, to implement and integrate FPGA designs and sensor systems.

    + Analyze, design, simulate, and implement algorithms in hardware descriptor languages, such as VHDL and Verilog, based on MATLAB models.

    + Develop HDL test benches in hardware description languages for code validation and validation against models.

    + Analyze schematic diagrams for custom or commercial-off-the-shelf electronic hardware involving high-speed digital and/or analog circuitry in FPGA-centric systems.

    + Conduct experimental tests on the latest FPGA and SoC evaluation boards, evaluate results, and develop specifications for next-generation components.

    + Address diverse problems by determining methods and procedures for new assignments and providing feedback to technical personnel.

    + Develop project test plans and procedures, support test planning, and assist in executing lab and field testing.

    + Maintain requirements documents, functional specifications, and interface control documents.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

    + 8-12 years of relevant experience in FPGA system design and test.

    + Experience with embedded software/firmware design.

    + Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB.

    + Understanding of high-speed serial communication standards and interfaces, such as Aurora, 10Ge, and PCIe.

    + Experience with version control systems, including SVN and Git.

    + Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + US Citizenship.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Final DoD Secret Clearance.

    Work Environment

    You will work in a dynamic environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and tools. The role requires a hands-on approach in a laboratory setting, often involving test equipment and instrumentation. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to the success of projects.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr.
