Job Title: Electrical Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Electrical Designer with 3–5 years of experience to join our team in the Greater Columbus metro area. This role focuses on producing high-quality construction documents using Revit, supporting project managers, and participating in client site visits to help shape the design of electrical building systems.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain detailed electrical construction documents and BIM models using Revit for power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
+ Assist in the design and layout of electrical systems under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
+ Participate in client site visits to gather field data, assess existing conditions, and support project scoping.
+ Collaborate with internal MEP teams and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, consultants) to ensure design integration and accuracy.
+ Prepare and revise drawings, schedules, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
+ Support project managers with design coordination, documentation tracking, and quality control efforts.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in MEP engineering and design, specifically in electrical design for building systems.
+ Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in BIM workflows.
+ Familiarity with NEC and other relevant codes and standards.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
+ 3–5 years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
Work Environment
The position involves working in-office from Monday to Thursday with 9-hour shifts, and a 4-hour shift on Friday. Later in your tenure, you will have the option to work from home on Friday. This is an opportunity to work for an established MEP consulting firm with a large backlog of work in a stable company.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
