Job Title: Design Project ManagerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Design Project Manager to lead and coordinate design projects from inception through completion. This role involves managing design deliverables, overseeing communication with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities
+ Lead design team meetings and ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
+ Develop and manage design deliverables schedules in coordination with preconstruction and construction teams.
+ Oversee the integration of architectural, civil, structural, MEP, and specialty systems design.
+ Serve as the main point of contact during the design phase with the client and consultants.
+ Manage approvals, design changes, and RFIs during preconstruction.
+ Provide clear and consistent updates on project design progress.
+ Direct the work of in-house and consultant architects/engineers.
+ Ensure design team adherence to quality standards and project goals.
+ Review and approve consultant contracts and scopes of work.
+ Monitor design budgets and support the estimating team with up-to-date documentation.
+ Identify scope changes or design risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Coordinate code analysis, entitlements, and permit acquisition.
+ Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, agency requirements (e.g., NAVFAC, UFC standards), and sustainability criteria (e.g., LEED).
Essential Skills
+ Architecture license (in any U.S. state)
+ Proficiency in Revit
+ Minimum 5 years managing or guiding teams on complex projects
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Architecture required.
+ OSHPD / HCAI experience
+ Department of Defense (DoD) project experience
+ Familiarity with Adobe Suite and Navisworks
Work Environment
The role offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule: Monday to Wednesday in-office, and Thursday to Friday optional work-from-home. This exempt-level position allows for flexible hours based on project needs. The work location spans across various regions, including California, the East Coast, Guantanamo Bay, and Puerto Rico. Although travel is not required, occasional site visits are optional and based on employee interest. The Design Project Manager typically oversees 2-3 architects per project as collaborators.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
