Hiring Structured Cable Technicians at the Microsoft Data Center in West Des Moines, Iowa

Key Responsibilities:

+ Install and terminate structured cabling systems for data center operations

+ Perform cable testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality

+ Label and document cable connections for accurate tracking and maintenance

+ Assist with rack and equipment installations to support network infrastructure

+ Follow technical diagrams and blueprints to ensure precise cable routing

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment to optimize efficiency

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, electrical, or low-voltage installation

+ Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling systems

+ Proficient with cable testing tools for verifying connectivity and performance

+ Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

+ Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs

Additional Skills & Requirements:

Reliable transportation & flexibility for varying hours (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

Self-motivated, positive approach, and professional demeanor

Ability to interpret blueprints and technical project documents

Comfortable working in indoor & outdoor construction environments

Must have a clean record -** **no felonies or charges within the past 7 years

Work Environment:

**Location:** Microsoft Data Center – West Des Moines, Iowa

Schedule:** Five **10-hour shifts (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

On-site, active construction site with moving equipment & safety regulations

**Required gear:** Steel-toed boots, clean jeans, work-appropriate shirt (PPE provided: high-visibility vest, hearing protection, work gloves).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
