    Job Description:

    Summary

    Rotates in the duties of supervising and directing the operators, through radio contact or physical checks and will aid in the field. Responsible for all dispatch office functions, including providing customer service on the telephone, in person, and in the field. Provides impeccable customer service to our clients and passengers.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + Keep records, logs, and schedules of the calls they receive and resolutions to those cases. Maintain information on each call and then prepare detailed reports on all activities occurring during their shifts.

    + Assist Garage Management to ensure operators maintain routes and time points and provide quality customer service.

    + Monitor and document daily operation of the service with respect to safety, on performance and quality of service.

    + Ensure operators are following the rule/procedures as directed and ensure all routes are covered daily and cover any open route.

    + Work with regional supervisors to assist passengers and operators in the performance of their duties.

    + Promptly attend to roadside problems or assist with any other issues when deemed necessary by the NJT Mercer Garage Supervisor.

    Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED.

    + Have 2+ years' experience in a leadership role.

    + Previous experience in the transit field, as well as supervisory experience preferred.

    + Class D driver's license in good standing.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    + General knowledge of the methods of operating two-way communications equipment and proper radio procedures

    + Thorough knowledge of city street systems, peak traffic times and locations and effects of weather on street conditions

    + Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.

    + Must be able to work as a member of the team.

    + Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customer on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups.

    + Able to use multi-line phone system and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

    Physical Demands:

    + Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

    + Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

    + Must be able to work 50% indoors and 50% outdoors.

    Other Conditions:

    + Must be able to work flexible day and night hours including weekends and holidays.

    + Must be able to pass and maintain a physical examination, criminal background check and drug test.
