Position Summary:
West Marine Pro is seeking a Pro Specialist to service Pro Customers in the Hawaiian Islands.
West Marine is seeking a driven, customer-first Pro Specialist to lead sales efforts within our PRO division. This hybrid role combines inbound sales, customer service, and operational leadership to deliver exceptional experiences for our professional customers.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong customer relationships, and drives results while championing our customer-first culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction & Sales:
+ Respond promptly to inbound calls and emails from PRO customers with professionalism and accuracy.
+ Place customer orders, provide detailed product information, and resolve customer inquiries.
+ Build and maintain relationships with accounts to drive repeat business and loyalty.
+ Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell based on customer needs and current promotions.
+ Track sales activities and customer interactions using Salesforce.
+ Stay updated on marine product knowledge and industry trends.
+ Collaborate with the PRO Market Team to expand and support the local customer base.
+ Lead and coach team members to achieve sales goals and provide superior customer service.
+ Assist all OMNI order processes including in-store pickups and deliveries.
+ Ensure compliance with West Marine’s brand standards and operational excellence.
Team Leadership:
+ Foster a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
+ Lead by example by engaging with customers and mentoring staff.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
+ Troubleshoot customer issues, providing prompt and effective solutions.
+ Escalate complex issues to appropriate departments and follow up to ensure resolution.
+ Monitor and manage past-due orders and inbound stock transfers.
Education, Experience & Skills:
Minimum education required/preferred, area of study:
+ Minimum High School or GED.
Minimum years of relevant experience preferred/required:
+ 2+ years Sales experience
+ Supervisory or management experience in a retail or hub/warehouse setting preferred
+ 3+ years Customer service experience
+ Proficient knowledge of marine products and/or the marine industry required.
Additional skills/knowledge required include:
+ Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
+ Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
+ Ability to foster relationships with customers.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height unassisted.
