    Classification Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Job Description:

    Interpret and implement consumer research projects.

     

    Responsible for assisting in the interpretation and distribution of surveys using appropriate digital platforms to gather data on consumer and producer preferences for horticultural goods and services. Support the design of computer-based choice experiments simulating shopping tasks. Assist with coordinating data collection for eye tracking and behavioral experiments conducted at a research lab. May recommend changes to procedures as necessary.

     

    Coordinate dataset management and assist with data interpretation.

     

    Coordinate and summarize survey datasets for further analysis. Coordinates analysis protocol related research procedures and study. Ensures use of appropriate statistical and econometric techniques to assist with evaluation of consumer behavior and preferences under the supervision of the PI. Contribute to the preparation of research summaries, insights, and data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.

     

    Support research communication and dissemination.

     

    Serve as liaison between the program and outside agencies. Assist in drafting and editing technical reports for industry stakeholders, and extension publications. Help prepare presentation materials for outreach events, stakeholder meetings, and professional conferences.

     

    Contribute to proposal development and background research.

     

    Review relevant literature and summarize findings to support ongoing projects and new proposal development. Assist in drafting sections of grant applications and preparing background documentation required for submission. Retains records/archive documents for projects.

     

    Other duties as required

    Expected Salary:

    $45,000-$60,000 commensurate with education and experience

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred:

    Master’s degree in agricultural economics, economics, applied data science or a related field.

     

    Experience in conducting scientific research, including but not limited to data analysis, visualization and technical report writing

     

    Writing experience and interpersonal communication skills.

     

    Experience working with choice models and relevant statistical and numerical software.

     

    Experience with data visualization platforms
