    Substation Project Engineer

    Job Summary

    POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is currently seeking a mid-level electrical, mechanical or civil engineer to work as a Substation Project Engineer in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. A minimum of three in person days are required, with the flexibility is available to work remote one or two days a week if desired.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling

    + Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution

    + Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner

    + Perform QA/QC for deliverables

    + Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects

    Required Education/Experience

    + BSEE, BSME, or BSCE (BS Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering) or equivalent Engineering Technology degree, from an accredited university

    + Experience in 15kV through 138kV substation design (Protection & Control or Physical/Civil/Structural)

    + Experience filling the role of project engineer for several substation projects occurring concurrently

    + The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

    + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

    Desired Education/Experience

    + Five (5) or more years experience in utility substation design

    + Experience in 230 kV to 500 kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards

    + Proficient in both P&C and Physical design
