THE ROLE
The Banquet Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet events and functions within the facility. This role ensures high standards of service delivery, team performance, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The Banquet Manager works closely with the culinary, stewarding, catering, and event coordination teams to ensure flawless execution of events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Assign and supervise banquet service staff, including captains, servers, porters, and support personnel, based on event requirements.
+ Conduct weekly training sessions for banquet team members to ensure consistent service standards and professional development.
+ Establish, implement, and maintain banquet service procedures, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
+ Monitor and report the condition of function spaces, coordinate with Engineering and Housekeeping for timely maintenance and cleanliness.
+ Collaborate with Catering, Event Coordinators, Housemen, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely room setup and execution.
+ Oversee banquet equipment, uniforms, and par levels of supplies and consumables; monitor requisitions and usage to ensure efficiency and cost control.
+ Assist in managing food and beverage costs, including oversight of waste reduction and proper portion control.
+ Review and verify banquet checks for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies as needed.
+ Ensure captains complete post-event reports; distribute relevant information to the appropriate departments.
+ Meet daily with event planners to gather feedback, review concerns, and provide exceptional client service.
+ Conduct pre-function meetings with service staff to review event specifics, meal timing, seating arrangements, and service assignments.
+ Coordinate with the culinary and stewarding teams on food preparation timing, presentation standards, and service logistics.
+ Lead inspections of banquet spaces and storerooms to ensure they are clean, organized, and event ready.
+ Direct and oversee the setup and breakdown of events, including special functions and last-minute changes, ensuring all areas are prepared according to specifications.
+ Maintain detailed guest counts and communicate updates to the kitchen and service teams in real time.
+ Manage special projects related to food and beverage operations as assigned by leadership.
+ Support overall food and beverage operations to ensure alignment with venue goals and client expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
+ Associate’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business, or a related field required.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of banquet management or supervisory experience in a hotel, convention center, or large event venue.
+ Three plus years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Experience managing large-scale events, corporate functions, or galas strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities
+ Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
+ Deep understanding of banquet service standards, function room setups, and event timelines.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
+ Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
+ Proven ability to collaborate across departments to execute seamless events.
+ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
+ Ability to handle last-minute changes with poise and professionalism.
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Computer Skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
+ Working knowledge of event management tools and POS systems.
