CTG is seeking to fill a Scrum Master II opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.
**Location:** Buffalo, NY
**Duration:** 6 months
Overview:
+ Provide servant-leadership and mentorship to multiple cross-functional agile teams.
+ Apply Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and XP to promote continuous improvement.
+ Coach teams on agile principles to foster self-organization, collaboration, and transparency.
+ Visualize and communicate team progress and impediments to stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Utilize agile practices such as user stories, retrospectives, ATDD, TDD, pairing, and information radiators to build high-performing teams.
+ Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and learning within teams.
+ Create and deliver team-level coaching content tailored to agile practices.
+ Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
+ Promote workflow transparency through effective use of dashboards and metrics.
+ Remove impediments that are beyond the team’s authority.
+ Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to improve agile practices across the organization.
+ Mentor and support less experienced Scrum Masters.
+ Organize and host team learning opportunities, such as training sessions, meetups, and communities of practice.
+ Follow company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
+ Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to mitigate risks.
+ Support diversity and uphold the client’s brand values.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
+ Operates independently to lead agile teams in complex environments.
+ Drives outcomes through influence and accountability rather than direct authority.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
+ No direct reports.
+ Manages team dynamics and agile delivery through facilitation and influence.
Education and Experience Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience as a member of an agile team, including 2 years as a Scrum Master.
+ In lieu of a degree, 8 years of combined education and/or relevant work experience, including 4 years on agile teams and 2 years as a Scrum Master.
+ Knowledge of the banking industry.
+ Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment.
+ Proficiency with Jira, Power BI, and other agile tools.
Education and Experience Preferred:
+ Experience in at least two technology roles (e.g., project management, UX, development, QA).
+ Proven ability to foster team self-organization and improvement.
+ Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking principles.
+ Experience with digital capability development and delivery.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
