Qualifications
What we are looking for:
The Medical Administration Specialist provides expert-level administrative support across a wide range of medical organizational, business, and operational functions. This position serves as a key advisor to senior leadership, offering technical expertise that impacts compliance, strategic planning, quality management, risk assessment, managed care coordination, human resources, logistics, budgeting, medical readiness, and healthcare operations. The role requires mastery of both military and civilian healthcare systems, including policies and standards related to TRICARE, clinical and financial systems, and federal regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support senior management in the execution of complex medical administrative operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance standards.
+ Assist in the development and oversight of operational plans involving risk management, quality assurance, and budgetary control.
+ Coordinate across multiple departments to manage human resources, logistics, and patient administration functions.
+ Leverage advanced knowledge of TRICARE and military healthcare systems to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
+ Utilize medical information systems and analytical tools to perform data-driven evaluations and present actionable insights.
+ Ensure compliance with all relevant privacy, confidentiality, and accreditation standards, including HIPAA and AAAHC.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business, Information Management, or a related field is required.
+ Master’s degree in one of the above disciplines is preferred.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in medical administration services.
+ Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered upon approval by the requesting location and Contracting Officer.
+ Technical Knowledge & Skills:
+ In-depth knowledge of military medical services and civilian healthcare delivery systems.
+ Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, Army, or Navy medical standards and AAAHC accreditation requirements.
+ Understanding of TRICARE, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and public health systems, including regional and local support services.
+ Proficiency in using medical information systems, clinical and financial models, and military healthcare computer systems.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
+ Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, internet applications, and microcomputer equipment.
+ Communication & Coordination:
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with high-level officials across departments and agencies.
+ Demonstrated ability to research and analyze operational activities and present findings effectively.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:Primarily sedentary work with occasional requirements for walking, standing, bending, or lifting. Must be capable of performing duties in a standard office setting for extended periods.
