    Senior/Lead Analyst (Export Control Compliance) - DHS S&T (Onsite)

    We are actively seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), Export Controls Group.

    Work Description:

    The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) uses advanced technologies and scientific expertise to enhance national safety. ​The Science & Technology (S&T) Directorate organizes and leverages U.S. scientific and technological resources to develop tools for homeland protection.​ To ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations, the department requires technical and programmatic support, particularly for U.S. and multilateral export controls like EAR, ITAR, OFAC regulations, and other international frameworks. ​

     

    In support of this program, the Senior/Lead Analyst will understand, analyze, and provide explanations in laymen's terms of the legal underpinnings of US. Export laws and regulations. They will serve as the onsite team lead for a group of analysts with significant experience in identifying export-controlled technologies and transactions, and identifying and applying regulatory exemptions and/or export license applications. This position requires thorough knowledge of the EAR, ITAR, and other U.S. export control policies and regulations.

    Responsibilities: The Senior/Lead Analyst will support tasks such as:

    + Serve as the primary analyst responsible for task management of a comprehensive DHS Export controls compliance program

    + Collect, analyze, track, store, and archive compliance program information through appropriate Government databases

    + Provide information management support

    + Facilitate DHS efforts to ensuer export control compliance by informing program managers and investigators of applicable regulatory compliance issues, federal laws, regulations, and related DHS requirements and procedures

    + Provide export control compliance support to DHS components and DHS-sponsored and funded entities

    + Prepare compliance assessments and support export control compliance program

    + Conduct training and outreach including developing instructional support products to maintain departmental awareness of export control compliance activities and requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    + U.S. Citizenship

    + Bachelor's Degree

    + 10+ years of relevant export control compliance experience

    + Secret Clearance (TS/SCI Eligible)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Working knowledge of data science programming in Python

    + Advanced knowledge of SQL, preferably for Snowflake

    + Ability to apply project management principles and best practices

    + Independent problem-solving

    + Strong writing and editing skills

    + Willingness to learn

    + Ability to collaborate and work effectively remotely and in-person
