Summary
SRP (Salt River Project) is looking for 2 Human Resources (HR) Benefits Interns to join the Human Resource Benefits team.
The Benefits team provides direct support to employees, retirees, and other plan participants for managing benefits, troubleshooting issues and assisting in the onboarding and offboarding of employees. The Benefits team manages relations with a number of benefit vendors and consultants and collaborates with internal departments such as Talent & Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, Employee Relations, Corporate Secretary's Office, Accounting and IT support teams. This small, dynamic and effective team connects participants to top tier benefits and services as part of the total employee rewards.
The Benefit Intern provides support work for the Benefits team, including employees' benefits for medical insurance, dental insurance, vision plans, wellness programs, life insurance plans, and other programs and benefits. You will be the first point of contact with SRP employees, management, retirees, contractors, and applicants, and will be responsible for directing them to the appropriate Benefits resource. Provide direct assistance to Benefit team and management.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 29.5 hours per week maximum.
What You'll Do
• Answering phones for general questions and employee requests, assist members in processing life events, and other basic benefits transactions.
• Assists in creating and assigning workflow tickets for elevated member support.
• Assists in record and documentation management and processing member communications.
What It Takes To Succeed
• Experienced in MS Office with experience using Excel
• Experience with communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Sensitivity to clients' needs and ability to develop trusted client relationships
• Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
