    Overview

The Vice President, Lifecycle Marketing Strategy is a senior strategic leader responsible for helping brands design and optimize marketing strategies that connect with customers across every stage of their lifecycle—from acquisition to onboarding, engagement, retention, and win-back. With a strong foundation in CRM and data-driven marketing, this role brings a lifecycle-first mindset to building connected, personalized experiences across direct, owned, and addressable paid media channels.

The VP will lead the development of holistic lifecycle strategies, activating journeys and programs through CRM platforms like Salesforce, Braze, and Adobe, and partnering closely with creative, media, and technology teams to deliver measurable business growth. This person should have experience across a range of B2C and B2B industries and will serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution and team development.

    Responsibilities

+ Define lifecycle marketing strategies that guide customer engagement from first touch through loyalty, reactivation, and advocacy—tailored to client goals and customer behavior.

+ Translate customer journey insights into scalable marketing programs across CRM (email, SMS, push), owned (web, mobile app, direct mail), and paid addressable channels.

+ Develop segmentation and targeting strategies rooted in first-party data to enable personalized experiences across lifecycle stages.

+ Lead the strategic vision and planning for CRM programs, aligning messaging, cadence, and creative with customer needs and business KPIs.

+ Partner with clients and cross-functional teams to design and activate omnichannel campaigns, orchestrating connections between lifecycle CRM programs and paid media.

+ Leverage marketing technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Braze) to design automated journeys, triggered messages, and real-time personalization.

+ Analyze campaign and program performance to uncover actionable insights, support test-and-learn approaches, and continuously improve lifecycle outcomes.

+ Collaborate with Media, Creative, Analytics, and Tech teams to ensure lifecycle programs are fully integrated with broader brand and performance strategies.

+ Present strategies, roadmaps, and performance findings to senior client stakeholders, serving as a key voice in campaign planning and growth conversations.

+ Stay ahead of industry trends in customer lifecycle marketing, MarTech, personalization, and privacy to evolve best practices and guide client innovation.

+ Mentor mid-level strategists and support their career development

+ Scope and drive the development of engagements (scoping, timing, deliverables, effort)

+ Contribute to staffing and resourcing, being an advocate for strategic needs across accounts

    Qualifications

+ 12+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, or customer engagement strategy, ideally in an agency or consultancy supporting multiple client verticals.

+ Proven success designing and executing full-funnel lifecycle strategies that drive customer acquisition, onboarding, retention, and reactivation.

+ Deep expertise in CRM channels (email, SMS, push), with working knowledge of how to connect them with paid and owned media to support broader lifecycle goals.

+ Familiarity with MarTech platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, Braze, and data integration tools.

+ Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategy, optimize performance, and drive structured experimentation.

+ Adept at collaborating across creative, media, and data teams to deliver unified customer experiences and maximize channel effectiveness.

+ Skilled in stakeholder management with the ability to lead strategic conversations with senior clients and influence cross-functional teams.

+ Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams, guiding account strategy, and managing delivery across multiple workstreams.

+ Curiosity and passion for staying at the forefront of lifecycle marketing trends, tools, and customer engagement practices.

+ Solid business intuition, a collaborative spirit, and experience in driving growth for clients through CRM

+ Experience advising clients (VP to C-level) on strategic considerations and best practices for building effective CRM programs
