Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly (Full-time (40 hours/week)
Office Status: Full-Time In Office
Office Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary: The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the HR Team in areas such as training, recruiting, personnel records management, payroll, employee benefits, employee development, wellness initiatives, and labor law compliance.This role will assist with a variety of HR-related tasks and serve as a reliable point of contact for employees and management. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, discretion, and a desire to grow within the HR field.
Major duties and responsibilities:
+ Recruiting support – ATS maintenance, pre-screening applicants, interviews.
+ Collect and review new hire paperwork for accuracy and setup personnel folders.
+ Enter new hires in Payroll system and benefit portals.
+ Pre-employment background checks and onboarding.
+ Assist in payroll preparation and processing – process employee changes to compensation, deductions, address, time card punches, PTO requests, etc.
+ Audit and maintain current HR files and databases.
+ Reconcile payroll deductions and employee benefit invoices.
+ Assist with open enrollment and year-end duties – benefit changes, etc.
+ Serve as a backup for USG’s corporate new hire training by creating training schedules, on-line trainings, and working with new hires to conduct training sessions.
+ Serve as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions in the absence of the HR Generalist.
+ Respond to employment verification and unemployment insurance inquiries.
+ Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
+ Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in a human resources assistant role.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Strong attention to detail with proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
+ High level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
