Caterpillar’s Earthmoving Machine Division plays a crucial role in helping our customers build a better world. We have an exciting career opportunity for a Category Procurement Manager to lead our North American Earthmoving Powertrain Procurement team. In this role, you will manage the regional strategy in alignment with the global strategy, collaborating with regional teams to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

+ **Develop and Implement Strategies:**  Create and communicate the EMD North American powertrain, winches, and fluid conveyance tube sourcing strategy.

+ **Performance Improvement:**  Identify performance gaps within the supply base and develop plans to address these gaps.

+ **Risk Mitigation:**  Collaborate with the Supply Network on risk mitigation and utilize predictive cost modeling, both geographic and component-based.

+ **Supply Network Management:**  Identify, develop, and manage a high-performing global supply network for powertrain, winches, and fluid conveyance tubes, leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC).

Required Qualifications:

+ **Negotiation Skills:**  Extensive ability to leverage successful negotiation concepts and techniques to effectively negotiate between external suppliers and the internal matrix in a constructive and collaborative manner.

+ **Category Management Expertise:**  Deep knowledge of category management to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.

+ **Strategic Sourcing:**  Demonstrated ability to analyze, improve, and re-evaluate procurement processes using strategic sourcing methods, technologies, and processes.

+ **Supplier Relationship Management:**  Strong knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage supplier business relationships and transactions with suppliers of product components.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ **Product Value Streams:**  Understanding of product value streams and design for manufacturability.

+ **Leadership Experience:**  Proven experience in people leadership.

Additional Details

+ **Location:** Peoria, IL

+ **Office Model:** This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

+ **Travel:** 20% domestic and international (North America Region) travel

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
