The Director of Curriculum and Instruction impacts students’ lives by:

+ Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school

+ Raising student achievement by increasing the effectiveness of instruction

+ Observing instruction and giving daily and weekly feedback to classroom teachers

+ Working with the Principal to design each grade level’s standards-based curriculum

+ Providing professional development for teachers on instructional delivery of school curriculum and data analysis and usage

+ Collaborating with grade-level teams and individual teachers on curriculum integration, planning, and student assessment

+ Coordinating multiple assessment programs

+ Managing a team of teachers and teacher leaders

+ Overseeing the daily schedule and providing leadership on the logistics of the school day

+ Using leadership feedback and goal-setting to improve daily practice

+ Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events

+ Taking on other tasks, as needed

+ Have a BA or BS degree, Master’s degree preferred

+ Possess Louisiana Teacher Certification (or equivalent in another state), Mentor Teacher certification preferred

+ Have demonstrated success in coaching teachers, designing curriculum, and leading student achievement

Physical Requirements

+ Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

+ This is an in-person role
