Summary
Project Mananger oversees daily operations for the largest and most functionally diverse logistics operation in the Department of State.
Responsibilities
What you'll get to do:
+ **Supervision and Staffing:** Manages office and warehouse staff, schedules interviews, and ensures adherence to company policies and performance standards
+ **Logistics Coordination:** Oversees the movement of over 5 million pounds of personal effects annually, coordinates with Dispatch Agencies, Transportation Service Providers, and Foreign Service Officers, and ensures safekeeping of items in storage.
+ **Customer Assistance:** Greets and assists customers, provides updated inventories, and addresses concerns from transportation service providers and transferring employees.
+ **Reporting and Accountability:** Prepares deliverable reports, ensures proper usage of Government Furnished Equipment, and maintains the warehouse facility and Material Handling Equipment.
+ **Procurement and Claims:** Procures materials, responds to claims requests, and develops training programs for staff.
+ **Safety and Security:** Promotes a safety program, responds to after-hours alarm notifications, and ensures staff compliance with Department security policies.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Must possess a minimum of a four-year college degree AND four years of verifiable experience in transportation or logistics management; OR eight years of verifiable experience in transportation or logistics management.
+ Four years work experience coordinating the movement of household effects.
+ Two years of relevant supervisory experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_
+ Possess an advanced working knowledge of the transportation/logistics industry.
+ Possess an advanced knowledge of world geography and the ability to demonstrate a complete knowledge of the overseas posts.
+ Possess verifiable speaking and writing skills that demonstrate the ability to professionally communicate with customers and stakeholders, including high-ranking government officials.
+ Possess proficiency with information technology software applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and Access (or other like software).
