Chaplain Resident
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional on-call shifts
Start Date: August 18, 2025 (12-month commitment)

As a Chaplain Resident at Novant Health, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their loved ones by addressing their unique spiritual, emotional, and social needs.
This residency offers a dynamic blend of hands-on clinical experience and structured educational opportunities aligned with ACPE standards and the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. You’ll provide compassionate spiritual support to patients, families, and Novant Health team members, while participating in didactic seminars, curriculum development, and mentorship designed to grow your professional skills.

Qualifications
+ Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required, or an equivalent degree or equivalent graduate degree. Graduate Degree, preferred.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of one unit of ACPE accredited CPE; preferably in a healthcare setting. Preferred.
+ Roles requiring communication across disciplines, preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification: Connected with a faith community to potentially seek endorsement, commissioning, and or ordination; required.
+ Additional Skills Required: Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
+ Additional Skills Preferred: Experiences in group learning; experiences in providing care to persons of all faith traditions and/or differing belief systems; experiences of working within the healthcare setting.
