Position Overview
Shaw Industries is seeking a Special Account Sales Associate. The Special Account Sales Associate is responsible for nurturing and expanding sales to House Accounts, currently generating $6M in net sales, as well as managing an additional territory with $2M to $4M in net sales. Success in this position requires a working knowledge of the cut rug business and the cat condo market, enabling effective engagement with clients and driving revenue growth in these segments.
Work Schedule: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office presence, when necessary, with the flexibility of remote work and virtual engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:
+ Sales and Customer Engagement: Proactively negotiate and sell designated Marketplace inventories to achieve the highest possible return on full standard cost and meet inventory turn goals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers through effective communication in the designated territory.
+ Special Account Management: Manage House Accounts for soft surface products, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and alignment with business objectives. Negotiate tailored pricing while safeguarding division margins and collaborate with internal teams to provide customized solutions that drive account success.
+ Marketing and Promotion: Develop and distribute marketing flyers through Account Engagement, tailored to customer needs to effectively promote inventory and drive engagement. Tailor marketing messages to reflect inventory value and relevance, enhancing customer engagement. Develop personalized outreach plans to build rapport and deepen customer loyalty.
+ Account and Data Management: Maintain the Salesforce.com database with accurate customer and order information, leveraging this data to identify and pursue sales opportunities. Utilize contact lists, Salesforce.com, TM 10% referrals, and cold calls to grow the customer base and meet accounts billed and phone utilization target. Resolve account claims while maintaining a positive customer experience. Collaborate with Financial Services for amicable claim resolutions and credit approvals while meeting CARP targets.
+ Inventory & Product Development: Develop new specialty products with R&D using both standard and custom Shaw products. Partner with R&D and Marketplace Sales Manager on product development using distressed yarn.
+ Product Analytics: Partner with the department manager to identify opportunities for marketing aged inventory to special accounts, focusing on maximizing both return and inventory turn.
Other Duties:
+ Workload Management: Manage workload to meet individual and departmental targets set by the manager.
+ Inventory and Product Knowledge: Participate in inventory review meetings to discuss current market trends and stay informed about pricing dynamics. Continuously expand knowledge of product lines and participate in scheduled training sessions, Linked-In Learning and ShowPad.
+ Sales Reporting consists of compiling and submitting weekly summary reports of sales activities. Support customers and field territory managers throughout the order entry process, including sampling, stock checking, pricing, order entry, and follow-through until delivery.
+ Website Promotion: Actively promote the Marketplace website to dealers and TMs. Provide timely assistance with inquiries, offer guidance on effective usage, and encourage adoption through demonstrations and personalized support.
+ Increase accounts billed by 10% by contacting at least two new accounts per week.
+ Sample Preparation: Prepare samples, print tickets, and load samples for market events.
+ Travel to markets, dealer locations, and warehouse sales to build trusting relationships and promote Marketplace inventory. (1-3 times per year)
Qualifications
+ Minimum 2 years' sales experience, preferably in flooring.
+ High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
+ Contribute and support to the strategic direction of the sales department while upholding the organizations values and mission.
+ Previous training and working knowledge of Shaw order-entry system.
+ Ability to travel to seasonal markets, often staying 2 to 4 days. Occasional overnight field travel to customer locations or Shaw facilities may occur.
+ Ability to understand and create spreadsheets and perform high school-level math.
+ Communicate effectively and professionally on the telephone, via e-mail and in-person.
+ Ability to distinguish and identify colors.
+ This position requires regular in-office attendance for customer visits, meetings, group training and product reviews.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Proficiency with Microsoft e-mail, drive, docs, and spreadsheets.
+ Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Account Engagement.
+ Proficiency with Shaw Online Live, Shaw Now, and GLINK.
+ Familiarity with the Shaw Marketplace website.
+ Solid knowledge base of relevant Shaw products.
+ In-depth knowledge of carpet construction, including various backing systems and yarn types.
+ Experience with specifying carpet materials in manufacturing, product development or technical sales environment.
+ General knowledge of quality control and ability to recognize defects in soft surface products.
