    The Opportunity:

    CACI is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Journeyman SQL Systems Administrator to join our team to support U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) in Doral, Florida. This position is contingent upon award.

     

    The Journeyman SQL Systems Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing Enterprise Operations in alignment with ITIL best practices. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of changes across USSOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES).

    Responsibilities:

    + Supports Enterprise Data Center (EDC) mission and business database administration functions across multiple contract tasks, ensuring smooth and secure operation of database systems in alignment with project requirements

    + Provides ESD support for incident management, resolving complex database issues promptly and ensuring minimal disruption to service availability and performance

    + Assists with planning, testing, integration, and implementation of database administration for new applications, per USSOUTHCOM cyber orders and system updates, ensuring proper documentation and seamless transitions

    + Leverages extensive knowledge and experience in database administration to tackle significant assignments, applying solutions to complex database-related challenges for USSOUTHCOM applications including AD authentication (Kerberos) and open-source Postgres

    + Assists in the strategic planning and execution of major technology initiatives, including database migrations, system upgrades, and performance optimization projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

    + Evaluates database performance, analyze performance metrics, and recommend and implement changes to optimize database performance, scalability, and efficiency to meet project and organizational objectives

    + Provides input into strategic decisions regarding database architecture, design, and technology stack, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable solutions for the organization

    + Drives continuous improvement initiatives related to database management practices, recommending and implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance overall database performance

    + Works closely with software developers, system administrators, and other technical teams to ensure that database solutions align with application requirements, infrastructure, and security protocols

    + Maintains thorough documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements

    + Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

    + US citizen with active Secret security clearance

    + Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or similar field

    + 3-5 years of relevant experience

    + Certifications in one or more: Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administration, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, MongoDB Certified DBA Associate, or AWS Certified Database

    + Possesses knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

    + Experience defining, documenting, and managing technical requirements

    _Desired:_

    + Experience in a large, distributed IT enterprise

    + Knowledge of DevOps practices and principles

    + Background with DoD networks

    The proposed salary range for this position is:

    $75,200-$158,100
