Required Skills:

Software Engineer, Systems Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.

2. Build new features and improve existing products.

3. Work on problems of diverse scope and design core, backend software components.

4. Handle large scale data storage, synchronization and coordination of large server cluster, and provide a runtime environment for front end code.

5. Receiving little instruction on day-to-day work, code using primarily C/C++, Java, PHP and Hack.

6. Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.

7. Conduct design and code reviews.

8. Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

9. Complete medium to large features (each with many tasks) independently without guidance.

10. Identify and drive changes as needed for assigned codebase, product area and/or systems.

11. Responsible for developing, deploying, and monitoring software on cloud-connected hardware devices running custom versions of operating systems for AR & VR devices based on open-source Android.

12. This includes building and maintaining developer infrastructure for Android-based devices, encompassing both first-party and third-party applications.

13. Involves implementing and managing telemetry systems for comprehensive error monitoring and performance analysis.

14. Demonstrates expertise in scripting for software testing and deployment.

Minimum Qualifications:

15. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

17. 1. Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#

18. 2. Building large-scale infrastructure applications

19. 3. Designing and completing medium to large features independently without guidance

20. 4. Experience owning a particular component, feature or system

21. 5. Python, PHP, or Haskell

22. 6. Relational databases and SQL

23. 7. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

24. 8. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

25. 9. Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

26. 10. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

27. 11. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees

28. 12. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction.

Public Compensation:

$215,931/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
