This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
You will provide MnDOT with department-wide scientific and technical expertise on topics and policy related to compliance with state and federal wetland laws and regulations. This position operates on a state-wide basis to administer and develop MnDOT’s wetland program to ensure on-time delivery of the State Transportation Improvement Program, including overseeing the assessment of wetland impact avoidance, minimization, and mitigation on proposed transportation related projects; co-coordinating the development and operation of MnDOT’s statewide wetland mitigation program; liaising with partner agencies; and providing guidance and quality assurance to staff work statewide.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of advanced professional experience in the areas noted below:
** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, botany, conservation biology, environmental science, ecology, natural resources, water resources, or other environmental related degrees may substitute for 6 months of advanced professional experience.
+ Experience providing consultation on federal and state wetland laws and regulations;
+ Experience with wetland ecology and performing or reviewing wetland delineations;
+ Certification through the MN Board of Water and Soil Resources’ Minnesota Wetland Professional Certification Program within 6 months of hire;
+ Experience with techniques for avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating wetland impacts sufficient to guide transportation projects;
+ Valid driver’s license.
