+ POSITION SUMMARY

+ Reports To:

+ Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor

+ Summary:

+ Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications. Assist Supervisor in training of new hires, management of inventory, advanced processing of prescriptions, verification of correct workflow processes and leader of additional services. Promotes a positive work environment for other staff and experience for patients.

+ Work Schedule:

+ Must be able to work non-standard hours.

+ SKILLS & ABILITIES

+ Education

+ High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

+ Experience

+ Certification by the Indiana Board of Pharmacy as either a pharmacy technician or a pharmacy technician-in-training required. Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience.

+ Computer Skills

+ Must exhibit basic computer knowledge. Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

+ Must exhibit basic computer knowledge

+ Certificates & Licenses

+ Certification by the Indiana Board of Pharmacy as either a pharmacy technician or a pharmacy technician-in-training required.

+ Other Requirements

+ Satisfactory completion of in-house pharmacy technician certification within one year of application to the Indiana Board of Health for technician-in-training certification is required. National Technician certification is highly desirable. Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy is desirable.
