Inpatient Psychiatry Addictions Counselor

The Addictions Counselor will provide individual and group counseling/therapy, recovery support, alcohol and other drug (AOD) assessment/counseling, harm reduction education, and clinical consultation. Co-occurring mental health concerns may also be addressed as part of this role.
This position will require:
+ ADO assessment,
+ diagnostic and ASAM evaluations,
+ brief treatment (individual, couple or group therapy),
+ Psychoeducational groups with addictions as a focus
+ Participation in clinical supervision and consultation.
+ Works collaboratively with psychiatric team
+ Participates in interdisciplinary Meetings and Treatment planning
+ Responsible for creating, coordinating and supporting an integrated addictions recovery and support program for identified patients of 5 East.
+ Documents patient care according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.
+ Actively participates in quality improvement, program development and professional growth activities.
+ Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
+ Performs unit support activities as needed and directed by manager or designee.
+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $43,888.00 - $68,036.80 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three-five years of experience working with clients in recovery from substance use disorders and/or
substance use counseling
Licensure: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Licensed Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (LCSAC) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping/walking. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
