Insight Global's client is looking for a SQL Analyst to join their FPNA team that is working on a large SAP transformation project. Part of the project is taking the data out of central finance and use the tool that breaks down all the information and does a cube style view. As they build the tool itself, they take a lot of the information into their data lake, snowflake. They have the engineering side of the house and then the data analytics side which is how they visualize the data. The bottle neck is on the data engineering side. They need a SQL Analyst to alleviate the pressure, someone who can make things happen within analysis in snowflake. They have deadlines to get to and things that take the manager 3 hours to do, a SQL Developer could do in 30 minutes. Use snowflake queries to build Power BI dashboards.

Looking for a hands-on data analyst with advanced SQL expertise in Snowflake to build robust data transformations that drive business insights. The role focuses on tying out metrics, creating smart aggregations, and enabling drill-downs to actionable detailsall using SQL as the primary tool. This role is more towards data cleansing, wrangling rather than development. Almost all the data already sits in the data lake snowflake so it is more a matter of doing the right transformations and saving back the data in a new table

Skills and Requirements

5 years of SQL Development- experience in building CTE's, not just left joins. Someone who is able to prepare data before joining the tables.

Snowflake experience

Expert in SQL for Snowflake: CTEs, window functions, pivots, dynamic SQL, performance tuning

1. Window Functions

2. Common Table Expressions (CTEs)

3. Pivot/Unpivot

4. Dynamic SQL

5. Version Control for SQL

6. Data profiling (using SQL to validate uniqueness, null counts, value distribution)

Build analytic data models and transformations for KPIs, financial tie-outs, and root cause analysis

Create modular, reusable SQL logic to support scalable reporting

Ensure data accuracy across sources and metrics

Follow best practices on code version control and adapt to this companys code development life cycle Basic Power BI for visualization

Python (pandas, SQLAlchemy) for data wrangling

Exposure to dbt or similar ELT tools null
