    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Fire Alarm Installation Coordinator serve as an Owners Representative supporting federal construction projects in Washington, DC. This position will oversee and facilitate the installation of fire alarm systems in a federal setting. This role focuses on coordination, quality assurance, and field verification. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between the client, subcontractors, and electricians to ensure proper installation and compliance with project specifications.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile government construction initiative. Supporting the Architect of the Capitol, this position offers also offers the unique opportunity to work on some the most historic and iconic buildings in the nation.

    Day-to-Day:

    The coordinator will work with a variety of commercial fire alarm systems, including but not limited to:

    Fire alarm systems, Notification appliances (strobes, horns, speakers), Smoke and heat detection systems, Exit and emergency lighting systems, Sprinkler monitoring and supervisory devices.

     

    Coordinate with the clients installers and subcontractors to ensure proper installation of fire alarm components.

     

    Verify that wiring and devices are installed to specification, including correct wire sizing and workmanship.

     

    Collaborate with the subcontractor responsible for system design and testing.

     

    Work closely with the draftsman to support accurate as-built drawings.

     

    Ensure final connections and components of the fire alarm system are completed correctly.

     

    Interpret and apply applicable NFPA Standards, International Building Code (IBC), and other applicable codes and standards (Government Standards Unified Facilities Criteria, etc.).

     

    Perform building and fire code analysis and code interpretations.

     

    Provide peer reviews of General Contractors work.

     

    Perform analysis of existing fire protection systems.

    Skills and Requirements

    10 YOE supporting fire alarm installations within federal, industrial, or large-scale commercial settings.

     

    o At least 4 years of recent federal expereince.

     

    o Extensive expereince and understanding of fire alarm systems, springer fixtures, exit lights, smoke, and heat detectors, etc.

     

    NICET certification

     

    Understanding of NFPA fire alarm codes and standards

     

    Background from Owners Rep or General Contracting is acceptable Engineering Degree

     

    REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite

    CCM, PMP, NCEES specific FPE certifications null
