    Description

    Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solutions Architect with strong software engineering skills and a passion for architecting, building, and developing tooling and solutions to show customers the art of the possible. You will be part of an agile team of innovative practitioners who are obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers, and our partners, as they build workloads on AWS. The ideal candidate should have the skills to partner with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to experiment with new ideas that can help customers measure their adherence to AWS-recommended best practices and balance architectural trade-offs with business priorities and goals.

     

    In this role you will use your software development skills to develop prototypes using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative IA, and Serverless Architectures. You will apply software engineering best practices that ensures the prototypes provide a foundation to production solutions. We will provide a creative environment where high judgement failure is embraced so you can move fast without compromising on research time that is required to experiment with new ideas.

    - You have an area of focus where you are a subject matter expert such as AWS Well-Architected, AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Machine Learning, extending through understanding and teaching operational best practices.

     

    - You enjoy collaborating with people, even outside the technical team, to deep dive into customer problems and find the best solutions for our customers.

     

    AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services is responsible for driving adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Architect, develop, test, and implement tooling that helps customers measure their workloads against best practice, drives them to make informed architectural trade-offs, and highlights key areas to help them be successful.

     

    - Research and employ up-to-date technological developments in customer engagements.

     

    - Drive the AWS platform by aligning customer requirements with AWS service teams’ roadmaps.

     

    - This role will focus on investing in the long term success of customers, using foundations and best practices from AWS Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework AWS for research, development, and innovation.

     

    - Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white-papers, tutorials, blogs, workshops, etc.

     

    - Position requires travel, generally, up to 25%.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 4+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

    - 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

    - 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

    - Experience with scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell)

     

    - Knowledge of AWS services

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

     

    - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

     

    - Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
