Are you ready to embark on your accounting journey in a fast-paced and innovative industry? Our client, a rapidly growing biotech organization, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will play an integral part in supporting accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and assisting with the day-to-day tasks that drive the financial success of the company. Key Responsibilities:
+ Process invoices, reconcile vendor accounts, and follow up on outstanding collections to maintain cash flow.
+ Perform journal entries and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
+ Review and record employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate account coding.
+ Assist in preparing standard financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
+ Provide support for audits and regulatory filings by maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
+ Help identify ways to streamline accounting processes, leveraging technology where possible.
+ Work closely with senior accountants, finance teams, and other departments to support company initiatives.
Requirements
+ 1+ years of accounting experience (internships or post-graduate roles).
+ Experience within the biotech or science-driven industries is a plus but not required.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Progress toward CPA certification is a bonus.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle).
+ Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with formulas, VLOOKUPS, and pivot tables.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
+ Effective communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements often encountered in the biotech industry, such as grant or research funding compliance, is a plus.
