Description

We are looking for an experienced Internal Communication Specialist to join our team on a long-term remote freelance contract basis in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in crafting and executing internal communication strategies that align employees with the company’s vision and goals. Collaborating closely with teams across the organization, including People & Culture, you will contribute to fostering an engaged and informed workforce.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the review and approval process for internal communication materials to ensure consistency and alignment.

• Manage incoming communication requests and maintain an organized, up-to-date calendar of internal initiatives.

• Develop and oversee content for all-employee meetings, ensuring clarity and engagement.

• Act as a trusted advisor to internal departments, providing guidance on effective messaging and delivery methods.

• Measure the impact of internal communication efforts on a monthly basis, using data to drive improvements.

• Utilize tools like Asana and generative AI platforms to streamline content creation and project management.

• Create innovative communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and alignment with organizational goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure communication plans are integrated and effective.

• Contribute to brand awareness through the development of engaging and impactful internal content

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on internal communications.

• Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines.

• Strong project management capabilities, including handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with tools such as Asana and generative AI platforms for efficient content creation.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop innovative solutions to communication challenges.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to building relationships across departments.

• Preferred experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, CMS platforms, and digital communication strategies. Innovation starts with people.®
