Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors. This role requires a strong understanding of accounts payable principles, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Receive, verify, and process invoices and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.

+ Match purchase orders to invoices and verify goods or services received.

+ Code invoices to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.

+ Prepare and perform check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.

+ Reconcile vendor statements, research, and resolve discrepancies.

+ Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoicing issues or payment inquiries.

+ Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and payment records.

+ Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals.

+ Prepare and process 1099 forms annually.

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting regulations.

+ Assist with audit requests by providing necessary documentation.

+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar accounting role.

+ Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles.

+ Proficiency in NetSuite or SAP preferred

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

+ Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
