    CaroMont Health is a 476-bed hospital located in Gastonia, North Carolina with a Level III Trauma Center, State-of-the-art birthing center with level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Nationally-accredited Cancer Center and Cancer Care program, Freestanding Emergency Department in Mount Holly, North Carolina Network of over 50 primary and specialty care physician offices and a 66-bed hospital in Belmont, North Carolina.

     

    Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of duties to help meet the pharmaceutical needs of the organization and its patients focusing on management of oncology patients. Provides medication-related information to physicians, staff, and community. Serves as a liaison to assigned patient care areas with responsibility for outcomes including patient satisfaction and quality measures. Mentors and educates pharmacy staff, residents, and students in area(s) of specialty. Coordinates delivery of pharmaceutical care within the assigned specialty by serving as the subject matter expert for order sets, patient care protocols, policy development / revision, and multidisciplinary rounds.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor of Science degree (BSPharm) in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognized college or university; NC pharmacist license required within 3 months of hire.

    + Completion of accredited PGY1 residency program or a minimum of three years experience as a hospital clinical pharmacist required.

    + PGY2 in Oncology preferred. Board certification in Oncology (BCOP) required within 12 months of meeting eligibility criteria.

    + Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) required within 12 months of meeting eligibility criteria with successful credentialing through the medical staff / NCBOP.

    + Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria. Excellent communication and teaching skills.

    + Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies.

    + Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures; Considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members; BLS and ACLS certification is required within 120 days of start, or first available course offered by CaroMont, whichever occurs later.

    + Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.
