Description

Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant with experience in family law, probate and divorce cases to join our legal team. This role will provide comprehensive support to attorneys, manage casework from start to finish, maintain schedules, and ensure seamless communication with clients. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling various aspects of case and docket management, preparation work for depositions, and has excellent interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and attorneys daily. Fulltime in office daily in Newton.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Case Management: Oversee the lifecycle of each case, ensuring all deadlines are met and client needs are addressed.

+ Document Preparation and Management: Organize, review, and draft documents related to family law and divorce proceedings.

+ Deposition Preparation: Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, including gathering and organizing relevant material.

+ Docket and Calendar Management: Maintain and monitor case dockets, schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines to ensure seamless case progression.

Communication:

+ Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys, handling daily communication and providing updates as needed.

+ Participate in phone calls and meetings with attorneys and clients.

+ Collaborate with associates and the managing partner on a weekly basis, using these interactions as mentorship opportunities to develop skills.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 3 years working in family law-related legal support.

+ Proven experience with deposition preparation and managing legal workflows from start to finish.

+ Strong computer skills, particularly in reviewing and using legal online portals.

+ Familiarity with litigation preparation and understanding of family law procedures.
